Here is what to expect.
We understand that coming to a chiropractor for the first time can feel uncertain, particularly if you are not sure what the problem is, what to bring, or what will actually happen. This page walks you through exactly what to expect when you come through our door in Macquarie.
There are no surprises and nothing happens without your understanding and consent. We take the time to explain everything we find and walk you through your options before any care begins.

Fill in the short request form on our website and we will confirm your booking by phone or email, usually within one business day.
No referral is needed. You do not need a diagnosis, a scan, or a GP letter. You can contact us directly.

Initial consultation
Your first appointment is a full 60 minutes. We begin with a comprehensive history covering your current concern, relevant medical background, lifestyle, and goals.
We then carry out a thorough physical examination, which may include orthopaedic and neurological testing where appropriate. We will explain what we find before doing anything. In most cases, care begins at this appointment where it is appropriate and you are comfortable to proceed.

Report of findings
Within the week, we invite you back for a dedicated report of findings appointment. We walk you through everything we found during your initial assessment, in plain language with no jargon.
We present your care options clearly and honestly, answer any questions, and give you time to decide how you would like to proceed. There is no pressure and no obligation to commit to anything on the day.

Your personalised care plan
Your ongoing care is built entirely around your individual goals and circumstances. There is no standard package and no predetermined number of visits.
Whether you are managing a specific complaint, supporting your body through pregnancy, investing in how you move and function long term, or bringing your child in for assessment, your care plan reflects what matters to you.

Practical information
WHAT TO BRING
Comfortable clothing you can move in. If you have any relevant imaging such as X-rays or MRI scans, bring those along. If you have a referral letter from your GP or specialist, bring that too, though it is not required.
Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit to complete a short intake form if you have not already done so online.
FEES AND HEALTH FUNDS
Your initial consultation is $175. Subsequent appointments are shorter and priced accordingly. We have HICAPS in clinic, so you can claim your health fund rebate on the spot. Chiropractic is covered under the extras component of most major health funds.
LOCATION AND PARKING
We are located at 41/21 Wiseman Street, Macquarie ACT 2614. There is free parking in the undercover carpark directly outside the practice, at the top on the right side. Free street parking is also available on Wiseman Street and Lawry Place, and there is a free carpark across Bindubi Street next to the fire station.
BRINGING CHILDREN
We are a family practice and welcome children of all ages, including babies. If you are bringing your child in as a patient, the same thorough assessment process applies, with techniques always adapted to their age and development. If you are a patient yourself and need to bring children with you, that is absolutely fine.
